Request for a "bump-up" of studies for redevelopment of the Queensway
Following discussion at the February 27, 2007 Board meeting, the GCA wrote to the Minister of the Environment of Ontario requesting further study of certain aspects of the project to redevelop Highway 417.

Submission to Council hearings on 2007 City Budget
On February 20, 2007 GCA President Bob Brocklebank spoke to Council regarding the draft City Budget for 2007.

GCA submission to Council hearings on City Budget Directions
On January 10, 2007 GCA President Bob Brocklebank spoke to Council as it considered instructions to city staff on preparation of budget documents for the 2007 financial year. This intervention was one of several by participants in the Capital Ward ward council.

GCA contact with organizers of the 2006 Santa Claus parade
On October 25, 2006 GCA requested the organizers of the parade to try to limit litter.

GCA request for a Community Design Plan
On September 25, 2006 a request for a Community Design Plan (CDP) was submitted to our Councillor.

GCA message to members of Council on turn restrictions
On August 22, 2006 GCA urged members of Council to approve right-turn restrictions from Torrington onto the Driveway and other supporting restrictions.

GCA request for safety studies of Sunnyside Ave.
In December 2005 the GCA asked Council to fund studies of the safety of Sunnyside Avenue. This request was in support of similar demands by the Old Ottawa South Community Association.
