Faith Brothers' Butchers
A friend of mine (Bill Faith, now living in Perth) says his father used to run a business in the Glebe. The name "Faith ?" was imbedded into the step leading into the building. Do you have any knowledge of the Faith Building? I promised to get a picture of the building for him.
The building you are looking for is at 793 Bank Street, one door south of Third Avenue on the east side of the street. The location first appears in the Ottawa City Directory in 1910 at 'Bernard Palet - Fruits'. It was the home of 'Faith Brothers - Butchers' from 1920 to 1953. The site served a variety of different meat and cheese businesses over the years. Since 1987, 793 Bank Street has been the home to the clothing store 'Glebe Side Kids'.
